Background
The Kindergarten Student Entrance Profile (KSEP) is a common assessment to gauge the readiness for students to enter kindergarten. Early proficiency in English establishes the foundation for success across all subjects and fields, so for English Language Learners (ELLs), it is especially imperative for them to be able to meet and excel at English readiness. Our project integrates into the existing GLEN Learn platform in order to better prepare and assess the English skills of young students.

KSEP Platform
Using some assets and structures from the existing GLEN Learn codebase, we built out our KSEP assessment platform with greater code reusability in mind so as to best integrate into -- and improve -- the work of GLEN Learn.
KSEP Dashboard
Equally important as the ability to educate students is the ability to understand the strengths and weaknesses of students and for teachers/parents to iterate accordingly. Our platform provides easily digestible statistics and visualizations so that teachers can see progress over a range of dates and question types for their students at the classroom or individual level. Using this information, teachers can edit the number of questions per category so as to target the highest needs categories.
KSEP Additional Features
Beyond the scope of creating a KSEP assessment platform, we made sure to create reusable frameworks that would be useful to GLEN World beyond our project itself. We focused on creating better layouts, audio prompt generations, and dynamic generation of our numbers questions.
